1,000V Rated Multi-Shaft System

What’s nice about this Klein 8-in-1 Insulated Screwdriver Set is the space-saving multi-tool design. The set comes with a cushion grip handle and five blades. Two of the blades are longer, giving you a total reach of 5.75″ past the handle. Those cover your #2 Phillips and 1/4″ slotted sizes.

The other three blades are double-ended and give you a reach of 3.5″ past the handle. You get another #2 Phillip and 1/4″ slotted to go along with #1 Phillips, 3/16″ slotted, #1 square, and #2 square ends.

Klein goes with a slim shaft on the drivers, giving them better access in tight spots than the thicker ones we often see.

Using the Klein 8-in-1 Insulated Screwdriver Set

Blade changes are super-easy to accomplish with the Klein 8-in-1 Insulated Screwdriver Set. Just push the blade into the handle and it automatically locks in. When you’re ready to switch, turn the collar in either direction to release the lock and a spring in the bottom pops the blade up. Since the collar works in both directions, it’s a very natural movement for both righties and lefties.

The lock is surprisingly strong for as simple a mechanism as it seems. I tried pulling the blade out and it just wouldn’t budge.

The Klein 8-in-1 Insulated Screwdriver Set isn’t completely fool-proof, though. If you use a second hand on the collar to stabilize the shaft, it doesn’t take much pressure to release. Just grip above or below the collar and there’s no issue.

Overall, it’s a good fit for the task it’s designed to accomplish. If this was for general purpose use and I might really torque down, I’d be concerned about the strength of the shaft and handle connection. For electrical work and the smaller fasteners that go along with it, they should be just fine.
