Leatherman Now Offers a Variety of Dedicated Fixed and Folding Knives
Since its inception around 35 years ago, Leatherman has been synonymous with multi-tools. The brand even has a few knife-forward multi-tools in its repertoire, like the Free series and Skeletool. From our point of view, it makes sense that the next step for Leatherman would be to offer dedicated pocket knives, which is exactly what theyโve announced for 2025. Leatherman Folding Knives
New for 2025, Leatherman is introducing two different folding knives to its fresh pocket knife lineup. The Blazer and Glider knives are both designed for modern everyday carry.

MagnaCut Steel
You may be wondering what makes MagnaCut steel so special that Leatherman would choose it for all of the knife blades in this launch. Well, the simple answer is that itโs a great material. According to BladeHQ, MagnaCut is special thanks to its toughness, corrosion resistance, and edge retention, making it ideal for any size of knife.
You wonโt only find it on dedicated knives, though. Leathermanโs Arc multi-tool also features a MagnaCut steel knife blade, and Leatherman claims itโs the first-ever multi-tool to include it.
Should You Buy One (or More)?
Whether youโre new to Leatherman or youโre a multi-tool veteran, this new knife collection has something for everyone. I appreciate that Leatherman is presenting a variety of styles and functions all at once, rather than releasing them in phases. While I have no doubt theyโll continue adding to the knife lineup for years to come, itโs nice that theyโre starting off strong with five different models to choose from.
As for the knivesโ quality, Iโm also confident that they live up to the Leatherman standardโa claim that is backed by the same 25-year warranty seen in all of their multi-tools.
Thereโs a premium price tag to go with their premium builds, though, and itโs understandable that you might want to see how they stack up against brands like Zero Tolerance, Spyderco, or Benchmade. I plan on getting my hands on a couple of these knives in the coming weeks, so be on the lookout for my first-hand experience if youโre interested in a more in-depth look.
