Loweโs Companies Inc. announced the company will donate $1 million to support the American Red Cross International Response Fund, which helps the victims of countless crises around the world, including the recent earthquake in Haiti. All 1,700 Loweโs stores will serve as donation centers for the American Red Cross, making it convenient for people who want to help make a difference.

The American Red Cross has already committed $1 million to the Haiti earthquake, and is releasing tarps, mosquito nets, cooking sets and other supplies from its warehouse in Panama that will be able to meet the immediate needs of 5,000 families in Haiti. In addition, the American Red Cross is deploying six disaster management specialists to the disaster zone to help coordinate relief.
Since partnering with the Red Cross in 1999, Loweโs and its customers have contributed more than $20.1 million for disaster relief.
