Theย design ofย the new line of Milwaukee Step Bits isย focused on providing effective use with todayโs high speed cordless drills. According to Group Product Manager, Brian Dieck, the step bits that Milwaukee is working to replace were originally designed for corded drill that run high torque but low RPM. โUntil now, users have been forced to choose between step bits that provide control at the cost of speed, or step bits that deliver fast cuts, but sacrifice control and hole qualityโ says Dieck.
Milwaukee Step Bits Features
Milwaukeeโs proprietary design process promises to deliver a step bit solution that provides speed, control, accuracy, and life when used in a high speed cordless drill. Starting with its Rapid Strike Tip, designers have sought to eliminate tip failure while eliminating walking and heat generation that still provides fast, accurate starts. For longer life, the bits are coated in a black oxide. Coupling the design with dual flute step geometry, we are told that these Milwaukee Step Bits will treat the user to hole times that are twice as fast, extend life span by up to four times, and provide 50% more holes per battery charge than other step bits.
