Bosch Battery Update: Extended Run Time for 12V and Wireless 18V Now Available

It seems that Bosch is in serious innovation mode with their power tool batteries. Two months ago they debuted their 6.0 Ah 18V battery that increased runtime by almost 50 percent. After attending the 2015 Bosch media event, Clint and Kenny came back with the notion that the Bosch battery gurus wouldn’t be out of the news feed for long. Not content just to extend the 18V line, Bosch also hit a significant milestone in the 12V category.

Bosch Compact 12V Battery Improved to 2.5 Amp Hours

Earlier this month Bosch introduced the BAT415 12V Li-on 2.5 Ah Battery Pack. This extends their 12V slim pack run time by an additional 25% without extending the footprint. This is a pretty big deal in the 12V category that could lead to the development of the first 12V 5.0 amp hour battery for Bosch.

The battery pack’s physical properties haven’t changed. That makes it just as easy and compact to use everywhere you’re using the current batteries. The new 2.5 Ah battery pack is suited for sawing, cutting, sanding, drilling and screw driving applications. As always, this new 12V Bosch battery is compatible with the complete Bosch 12V tool system.

Bosch Power Ready Wireless 18V Batteries Now Available with 4.0 Amp Hours

The Bosch Power Ready 18V Wireless 4.0 Ah Battery is the newest member of the Bosch Power Ready Wireless Charging family. Earlier this year, Editor-in-Chief, Clint DeBoer reviewed the Bosch Power Ready system. He concluded it’s there are some real benefits to the system. The new 4.0 Ah battery offers 50 percent more run time compared to 2.0 Ah wireless batteries Bosch has, which greatly improves the tool’s efficiency and productivity.

The 4.0Ah wireless battery features Bosch’s CoolPack technology for extended recharge life using a heat reduction housing and single-cell monitoring that maximizes cell usage and life. The battery targeted to mobile pros doing plumbing, construction, electrical and installation work.
