The Next Generation of Bosch Bulldog 36V Rotary Hammer is Here!
I imagine at some point in the past, someone in tool manufacturing must have said, โItโll be a cold day in hell before a cordless rotary hammer can do the same thing a corded model can.โ It was certainly a cold day in Las Vegas when Clint and Kenny first saw the new Bosch Bulldog 36V Rotary Hammer match that claim.
Sharing a model number with the corded Bosch RH328VC Bulldog Rotary Hammer, the Bosch RH328VC-36 packs a little more speed and higher hammer rate. The trade-off is in slightly lower impact energy โ 2.4 foot pounds compared to the corded 2.6 foot pounds.
The Bosch RH328VC-36 is equipped with a 4-pole motor, not brushless like you might expect at this stage of the game. At 36 volts and kitted with 4.0 amp hour batteries, you probably donโtย need a brushless motor, but itโs notย likelyย going to be much longer before the jump is made.
For drilling capacity, youโll get 1-1/8โณ solid bits in concrete, 2-3/4โณ thin wall core bits in brick or block, 1/2โณ steel drilling, and 1-1/8โณ in wood. All in all, itโs pretty close to its 8 amp cousin on the corded side. The Bosch Bulldog 36V Rotary Hammer actually matches up nearly identical to the corded Bosch RH228VC, which has a more recip saw style body to it.
The 36V Bulldogย comes equipped with a vibration-dampened handle and kickback control sensor-based technology, which shuts the hammer off in the event when the bit gets into a bind up situation.ย Vario-Lock Positioningย rotates and locks bits with 40 different positions available.
