Porter-Cable 20V Max Cordless Nailers Announced with Two 18 Gauge Models
Weโre hanging out in Louisville checking out outdoor power equipment, but thanks to the magic of technology weโre really excited to tell you about the newย Porter-Cable 20V Max Cordless Nailers that have just been announced! Porter-Cable is no stranger to nailers, but this is their first venture into the cordless end of that world. Theyโll be starting out with two lithium-ion powered nailers โ an 18 gauge brad nailer and 18 gauge narrow crown stapler.
The barrier in developing cordless nailers has always been air power. Matching the energy of a compressor has been most successfully done with a fuel cell/battery combination. In the past few years though, battery technology has caught up to the point that it can be used as a sole power source.
Starting with the smaller 18 gauge nailers is a great place to begin for Porter-Cable. It will allow some users to lose the compressor for finish work.ย Weโre just seeing the beginning as Porter-Cable has also announced it will follow up with a 16 Gauge Straight Nailer (PCC792LA/B) later in 2016.
