FLIR utilizes its typical base-mounted handle design, which is a smaller version of their large handheld cameras, and will feel very familiar to standard IR thermometers.
The big deal is the thermal cameraโit allows you to see hot and cold spots, whereas an IR thermometer can only provide numbers for feedback. It significantly reduces the time required for your diagnostic process.
Thatโs no surprise, but thermal camerasย are typically out of reach for most mechanics. FLIR lowers the price with its MSX technology, Multi-Spectrum Dynamic Imaging. It overlays a typical visual image over the thermal image to give you edge details. Itโs something weโve seen before and makes a huge difference in the clarity of the image.
The technology lets you use a lower-resolution thermal camera that costs hundreds of dollars less than others.
Youโll see those images on the TG275โs 2.4-inch screen. Youโll be able to save up to 4 GB of those images on the camera and work with them in FLIR Tools if you want to take things further. When youโre ready to transfer them off the camera, a Bluetooth connection makes it easy to send them to your phone or tablet.
Thankfully, FLIR goes with a rechargeable battery so you donโt have to keep spares on hand.
