Some people worry about the stock market, others about their childrenโs education. But a team of architects in Warsaw, Poland, decided to build a zombie-proof safe house (OK,ย theyย didnโt call it that) that would provide a beautiful place to liveโฆand also withstand a zombie apocalypse. Theย โSafe Houseโ is asย secure as you can get above-ground. With a single control, the entire structure can close itself up into a concrete cube that is virtually impregnable. And when we say impregnable, we mean it.
Concrete slabs slide and fold over, and down, to completely seal in the structure from anything barring a nuclear explosion. Those unwanted summer guests, not to mention Jehovahโs Witnesses, should be no match for this.

When shut up, the entire building is incredibly secure. In fact, a second-story โdraw bridgeโ is the only way in or out of the structure โ and even it rises out of the way behind a concrete wall. Not secure enough? Well, the architects didnโt think so either, and surrounded the entire property with a concrete wall. If Hugh Hefner were still alive, he would almost undoubtedly have had one of these built.
We kept expecting to see a moat, but I suppose thatโs a built-to-order option that can be added laterโฆ along with the defensive turrets and barbed wire fencing. Think this is a bit overkill? Laugh all you want, weโll be laughing our heads off while the rest of you are being eaten by hordes of zombies in the coming apocalypse!
I wonderโฆ does it use a lot of green technology? IU mean, if youโre going to go all-out you might as well add some geo-thermal heating, a green roof, and lots of solar panels that canโt be reached from below.
